NEW YORK -- SI.com caught up with senior writer S.L. Price following Melanie Oudin's loss to Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki in the quarterfinals of the U.S.

Open. With her deep run in New York, Oudin is projected to make her top-50 debut and could reach as high as No. 43 when the rankings come out following the Open.

She is the youngest American to reach the quarterfinals at any Grand Slam since Serena Williams in 1999.
