Baseball Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski was hospitalized for tests Tuesday after experiencing chest pains. The Boston Red Sox confirmed he was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital and was undergoing evaluation and testing.

Baseball players and owners agreed Friday to more frequent drug testing and increased -- but not total -- authority for the program's outside administrator.

All players implicated in December's Mitchell Report on peformance-enhancing drugs were given amnesty as part of the agreement, which toughens baseball's drug rules for the third time since the program began in 2002.

Baseball players and owners have agreed to amend their drug agreement, a decision that allows for more frequent testing and eliminates 15-day suspensions assessed in December against Jose Guillen and Jay Gibbons.

The deal, reached after months of negotiations, strengthens the authority the independent administrator has over the drug program.
