Former boxing champion Edwin Valero, who gained fame for knocking out all his 27 opponents and having a tattoo of Hugo Chavez on his chest, was found dead in his jail cell Monday and police said he hanged himself after being arrested in his wife's murder.

Brazilian authorities have ruled that former boxing champion Arturo Gatti committed suicide, and that his wife was not responsible for his death. Amanda Rodrigues was ordered released.

Former welterweight boxing champion Vernon Forrest was shot multiple times and died, after being robbed in downtown Atlanta, police officials said Sunday.

An autopsy was being conducted on Sunday. Initial reports suggest Forrest, 38, was robbed which led to a confrontation.

He was then shot several times in the back. Police are still searching for any suspects.
