Receiver Lee Evans signed a four-year contract extension worth $37.25 million on Thursday in a deal that prevents the Buffalo Bills' star from becoming a free agent after this season.

Rams to bench Bulger, start Green at QB

Rams coach Scott Linehan says Trent Green will replace Marc Bulger at quarterback for Sunday's home game against the Buffalo Bills.

The team said Linehan was not going to comment about the decision Tuesday but would be available to speak Wednesday.

The Seattle Seahawks beat the Rams 37-13 last Sunday. The Rams fell to 0-3 and lost for the 16th time in 19 games.

This was their seventh loss in a row to Seattle. They have been outscored 116-29 this season.


 

Bills to be paid $78M to play in Toronto

The Buffalo Bills will receive $78 million - more than double their calculated 2006 operating income - to play eight games in Toronto over the next five years.

The payment to the Bills was disclosed for the first time in Rogers Communications' 2008 first-quarter report released Tuesday.

The Toronto-based company is part of a consortium that negotiated a deal with the Bills to have them play five regular-season and three preseason games, starting this year, at the downtown Rogers Centre.


 

Games in Toronto, London highlight NFL schedule

The Buffalo Bills will play in Toronto on Dec. 7 against Miami as part of an effort to expand their market to Canada.

This marks the first time the Bills will play during the regular season in Toronto, about a 1 1/2-hour drive from Buffalo.

The game was one of the highlights of the NFL schedule released Tuesday. The season opens Sept.


 

Bills acquire DT Stroud from Jaguars (AP)

The Buffalo Bills acquired three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Marcus Stroud in a trade with Jacksonville.

The deal was announced by the Bills at a press conference on Saturday. It was not immediately clear what the Bills gave up in exchange for Stroud, a seven-year veteran who had the Jaguars' permission to seek a trade.
