Tiger Woods' three-shot victory in the Buick Open has given the PGA Tour event a 167 percent ratings boost over last year, when Woods was recovering from knee surgery and did not play.

CBS Sports said Monday its overnight rating was 4.0 with a 9 share, up from a 1.5 rating and a 3 share in 2008.

Perry skips Buick to be with sick mother (AP)

Kenny Perry will not be defending his title at the Buick Open next week in Michigan so he can stay near his cancer-stricken mother.

Perry's mother, Mildred, is under hospice care as she battles blood cancer. He said Tuesday he considered pulling out of the British Open last week until doctors assured him that his mother would be OK while he was in Scotland.
