Wizards' Songaila suspended for Game 6 (AP)

Washington Wizards reserve forward Darius Songaila was suspended by the NBA for Game 6 of a playoff series against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night for hitting LeBron James in the face with his hand.

Songaila, averaging 5.8 points and 2.6 rebounds in 15.4 minutes during the series, and Wizards coach Eddie Jordan have said the contact was accidental.


 

Jamison practices, could play Wednesday

Washington Wizards forward Antawn Jamison expects to play Wednesday night against Boston after missing two games with a sprained right shoulder.

The All-Star returned to practice Monday. He was hurt while diving into the front rows of seats to save a ball last week against Milwaukee.

He sat out Friday's win over Miami and Saturday's victory at Chicago, the first games he has missed this season.

"Antawn looked great today," coach Eddie Jordan said. "He did a lot of good things on the floor.


 

Butler expected back for Wiz on Thursday

All-Star forward Caron Butler appears set to celebrate his birthday with a return to the lineup Thursday for the Washington Wizards.

"Caron is going to be probable, so we add a little 'Tough Juice' to the lineup," said coach Eddie Jordan, referring to Butler's nickname.

"And we'll see how it goes." Butler has missed 16 straight games and 19 of the last 21 because of a hip injury.
