Larry Fitzgerald just cashed in. The Arizona Cardinals have reached an 8 year, 120 million dollar deal with their star Wide Out.

In an off-season where Placido Polanco was not offered a contract or arbitration, where both 2009 Detroit Tigers all stars were traded away, and where we were told that the Tigers were going to cut their payroll, comes the news that they offered Johnny Damon a two year, 14 million dollar deal.

The Detroit Tigers and ace Justin Verlander have come to an agreement on a new five year, 80 million dollar contract extension.

This will insure that Verlander will remain a part of teh Tigers organization until 2014. It will also cover his final two years of arbitration, and barring a trade Verlander will pitch his entire career in Detroit.

The San Diego Padres made their own splash in the free-agent starting pitching market Tuesday, signing right-hander Jon Garland to a one-year, $5.3 million dollar deal.
