Former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Donovan McNabb is apparently playing the role of Scrooge heading into the holiday weekend, stiffing former teammate, Vikings punter Chris Kluwe, on a $5,000 donation to Kick For a Cure: a charity that supports people with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

A person with knowledge of the situation says the Minnesota Vikings have waived quarterback Donovan McNabb, giving the 13-year veteran the opportunity to sign with another team for the stretch run.

The person spoke Thursday to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team has not yet announced the decision.
