These teams in the middle of the draft are very hard to figure out. The teams that pick before the middle part of the first round are generally so bad that any one great player will have a big impact.

The teams in the later part of the first round are generally one player away from either bring great, or maintaining their greatness.

Topix - Sports News  Sat, 09/12/2009 - 20:44

The Houston Texans, who went 8-8 in 2008, and had the 15th overall pick in the first round, were in a very unique position.

A lot of the glamour, high impact players had already been selected, and at 8-8 this team isn't good enough for one player to tip the scales, so the Texans have to be very smart in their selections and look to find more pieces for which they can build around.

Topix - Sports News  Wed, 08/26/2009 - 11:26

The San Francisco 49ers draft looked a lot better in April then it does in August. Of course now we have the Michael Crabtree holdout to help make a better analysis but overall the Niners had a pretty average draft.
