Ike pushes Wash. St.-Baylor to Friday (AP)

The Washington State-Baylor football game has been moved up to Friday night to avoid complications with Hurricane Ike on the Texas coast this weekend.

The game was originally scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Saturday to be broadcast on FSN. Kickoff is now scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Ike postpones Arkansas-Texas to Sept. 27 (AP)

Hurricane Ike has pushed back the Arkansas-Texas football game to Sept. 27. The hurricane is on a course for landfall in Texas this weekend.

Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds said the university believes the best thing to do is postpone the game, which had been set for Saturday in Austin.


 

LSU-Troy game postponed due to Gustav (AP)

LSU has postponed its football game against Troy after Hurricane Gustav rolled through Louisiana this week.

A person with direct knowledge of athletic scheduling at LSU told The Associated Press the Tigers' game versus the Trojans will be played Nov. 15.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the team had not been formally notified yet.

Documents show rental car involved in Taylor murder

A rented sports utility vehicle is apparently involved in the November shooting of Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor at his Miami home.

Court documents released Monday say the mother of a teenage girl rented a black Toyota Highlander, thinking the girl and a friend planned to attend a football game in Orlando.

The mother told prosecutors she didn't know the girls would allow young men they knew to use the vehicle.

Her daughter, identified as R.L.
