Seahawks WR Engram out 6 to 8 weeks (AP)

Seahawks leading receiver Bobby Engram will miss six to eight weeks with a cracked shoulder, coach Mike Holmgren says.

The 35-year-old Engram set a Seattle franchise record last season with 94 catches and then skipped offseason minicamps while in a dispute over his contract that expires after this season.


 

Ludwick homers in fifth straight game (AP)

Ryan Ludwick homered for the fifth straight game Wednesday night, tying the St. Louis Cardinals' franchise record.

Ludwick, who has six homers during the streak, hit his 29th of the season off the Dodgers' Derek Lowe in the fourth inning.

He connected four pitches after Albert Pujols hit a grand slam. Pujols was the last Cardinals player to homer in five straight games, doing it from Aug.


 

Jazz extend home win streak to 19 (AP)

Deron Williams scored 21 points and his backup, Ronnie Price, had 13 points and five assists as the Utah Jazz tied a franchise record with their 19th straight home victory, a 96-79 win over the Toronto Raptors on Monday night.

With the game tied at 65, Price led the Jazz on 24-4 run to start the fourth quarter.
