The Houston Texans will play their home opener against Indianapolis on Oct. 5 in hurricane-damaged Reliant Stadium with the roof open.

The stadium's retractable roof lost five pieces in the storm and officials said large pieces of debris had fallen into the stadium during Hurricane Ike.

The Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texans game was rescheduled to Nov. 9 after Reliant Stadium was severely damaged by Hurricane Ike.

The Texans' home opener was originally scheduled for Sunday, then postponed to Monday night as Ike approached the Gulf Coast.

The Category 2 storm slammed into Texas on Friday night and moved into Houston early Saturday morning.

Tampa Bay quarterback Jeff Garcia is out of Sunday's home opener against Atlanta because of a sprained ankle.

White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen was fined by Major League Baseball on Friday for accusing umpire Phil Cuzzi of having a vendetta against him.

Cuzzi ejected Guillen in the third inning of Chicago's home opener against Minnesota on Monday after he popped out of the dugout following a strike call against Paul Konerko.
