ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Tampa Bay Rays moved within 1 1/2 games of Boston in the AL wild-card race, getting a clutch three-run homer from Johnny Damon in a 6-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday night.

Manny Ramirez and Johnny Damon are about to become teammates again, this time in Tampa Bay. Both free-agent outfielders agreed to one-year contracts with the Rays, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press on Friday night.
