The Arizona Game and Fish Commission will now support the release of endangered Mexican wolves to replace those lost from the wild on a case-by-case basis.

Federal authorities are investigating the deaths of two endangered Mexican gray wolves, one in eastern Arizona and one in southern New Mexico.

A decade has passed since the federal government began releasing Mexican wolves into the wild in an effort to return the endangered animal to its historic range in the Southwest.
