Here's a Brady Bunch for NFL fans: Tom Brady got all 50 votes for MVP. The New England Patriots quarterback on Sunday became the first unanimous choice for The Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player Award since the AP began using a nationwide panel of media members who cover the league.

A 10-6 record and Wild Card Playoff birth would be enough to satisfy most NFL fans, in most NFL cities.

However, for the New England Patriots and their fans it is somewhat of an under achievement. This is a great football team in almost every way, and the bar for them has been set very high.

Sure they won their division, but a first round elimination at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens isn't good, and given the fact that they lost that game 33-14 suggests that there is some work to do on this roster.


 

Has NASCAR found the cure for its ills?

The basic plot of the 2009 NASCAR Racing season was one filled with falling attendance, poor TV ratings, and a step back for a sport that once looked to be ready to take on all comers save the NFL.

Fans were unhappy with the new version of the NASCAR race car, bored with the dominance of four time champion Jimmie Johnson, and finding other ways to spend their Sunday afternoons.

Now with Danica Patrick running in their second tier Nationwide Series, and several very close exciting races in the lead up to the Daytona 500, it seems that NASCAR has fixed some of the things that were wrong.

NFL fans expect rookie QB's to struggle, as they get use to the speed of the NFL game. However most NFL fans also expect an overall number one draft pick to come in and produce for their teams.

For the Detroit Lions who draft Matthew Stafford with the first pick in the 2009 draft, and paid him 41 million dollars guaranteed, that simply is not the case.

In fact Stafford, who skipped his senior year in college, doesn't appear anywhere near ready to lead a NFL offense.

Many NFL fans expected Chad Ochocinco to be the first player to get in trouble with his Twitter account. However Kansas City Chiefs Running Back Larry Johnson has become the first player to be told to stay away from his team, after using a gay slur, and talking down his Coach Todd Haley on his Twitter account.

Now the NFL is looking into possible discipline actions against the player, and the Chiefs may look to cut him as soon as this week.
