The Maverick's magical season has come to a rather abrupt end. The Mavericks opened their NCAA regional playoffs with a win over Abilene Christian, the 9th ranked team in NCAA Division II.
UNO scored all five runs in one innings, rallying from a 3-0 deficit, and made it stand up for the 5-4 victory.
Chris Kessinger improved to 9-4 for the Mavs and hurled an impressive sixth complete game this season.

A couple of weeks ago, the Bluejays looked like a lock for an at-large bid to the NCAA Regional playoffs, now, fresh off a six game losing streak to finish off the regular season, Creighton almost certainly needs to win their conference round robin in order to make it to the post season. |
