Crowds of rowdy revelers poured into the streets after Game 7 of the NBA finals Thursday night, rocking cars, setting bonfires and throwing rocks and bottles at officers in scattered sections of the city.

Giant balloons, floats, marching bands and clowns with confetti brought smiles to thousands of revelers Thursday eager to catch a glimpse of a parade as steeped in Thanksgiving Day tradition as turkey and pumpkin pie.

Football fans, college students and revelers are out in full force Saturday night on Mill Ave.

Thousands of revelers packed the streets on New Year's Day to watch the Rose Parade with its dancers swinging, bands marching and a 49-foot robot tipping a top hat.

Parade-goers were wowed by the robot named Asimo on a float sponsored by Honda Motor Co. when fireworks and streamers shot out of his hat.

This year's theme was 'Hats Off to Entertainment.'

'That was something,' said Peggy Tesh, 82, who came to the parade with her family from North Carolina.

The recession didn't keep the crowds away as they were greeted with sunshine and a temperature in the low 50s.

In addition to the many bars and taverns that will be packed with revelers this evening, some people got their celebrations started a little earlier tonight with some family fun.
