Jose Reyes is speeding to the suddenly splurging Miami Marlins. The All-Star shortstop became the second top free agent to land with the Marlins in a matter of days, agreeing Sunday night to a $106 million, six-year contract, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press.

Troy Tulowitzki and the Colorado Rockies have agreed to a new contract that guarantees the All-Star shortstop an additional $132 million over seven seasons through 2020.

Tulowitzki already had been guaranteed $25.75 million through 2013 under the $31 million, six-year contract he agreed to in January 2008.

The slumping Milwaukee Brewers sent former All-Star shortstop J.J. Hardy to the minors Wednesday, designated third baseman Bill Hall for assignment and fired their pitching coach.

The shakeup will give top prospect, Alcides Escobar, a chance to show he's the shortstop of the future and a potential leadoff man the club sorely lacks.

All-Star shortstop Hanley Ramirez is back in the Florida Marlins' lineup. Manager Fredi Gonzalez also shook up his batting order for Saturday's game against the New York Mets.

He moved Chris Coghlan to the leadoff spot and dropped speedy Emilio Bonifacio to second. Ramirez left Tuesday night's 5-3 loss at Philadelphia in the third inning.
