Greg Oden says he's ready to play. The Portland Trail Blazers center says he'll play Wednesday night against the Miami Heat, even though the team is listing him officially as a game-time decision.

Oden has missed the Blazers' last six games because of a sprained right foot suffered in Portland's season-opening loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Cowboys tight end Jason Witten feels every breath he takes because of a broken rib. Sleeping is difficult and doctors have told him that it could be three or four weeks before his side will feel any better.

Yet, Witten still hopes to play Sunday against the NFC East-leading and rival New York Giants. "I hope I can get out there and help," Witten said in the locker room Thursday before practice.


 

Wings' Holmstrom will be game-time decision

Top-line forward Tomas Holmstrom took an on-ice spin Saturday morning with his Detroit Red Wings teammates to test out his injured right leg hours before Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals.

After gingerly skating for about 20 minutes and flexing his legs, the winger said he felt good but wasn't sure if he would play.

"It was a pretty good skate. I felt it a little bit," Holmstrom said. "That's the concern right there. We're trying to do the smartest thing and figure it out before game time.

Ducks RW Perry may be back for Game 4 (AP)

Anaheim right wing Corey Perry said he probably will play in Game 4 of the Ducks' playoff series against the Dallas Stars.

After a morning skate-around, Perry said he felt good but acknowledged it will be a game-time decision whether he will play Thursday night.
