Tiger Woods takes an early lead over Rocco Mediate on their head-to-head 18-hole play-off for the US Open title at Torrey Pines.

Tiger Woods lost the U.S. Open lead right away Sunday, making double-bogey for the third time this week on No. 1 and turning his quest for a 14th major title into anything but a done deal.

He played the front nine of the final round at Torrey Pines in 2-over 37, putting him at 1-under for the tournament, one behind Lee Westwood and tied for second with Rocco Mediate.
