Sometimes I really don't understand Jerry Jones, and the way he chooses to run his football team. Based on the words that have come out of this guy's mouth he has never been happy with Wade Phillips as his head coach.
A few years ago he even went out of his way to give his Offensive Coordinator Jason Garret a huge contract that seemed to install him as the favorite to replace Phillips as head coach of the Cowboys.
Once Garret fell out of favor, it seems Phillips remains the head coach by default.

Wade Phillips is sticking around as coach of the Dallas Cowboys for two more years. Dallas won the NFC East for the second time in Phillips' three seasons.
The team also won its first playoff game since 1996 and the first in Phillips' head coaching career. The Cowboys are 34-17 over his three seasons in charge.
