Nevin Shapiro basically paid for an eight-year party for anybody who was anybody in the Miami football program.

Read the excellent Yahoo! Sports report and it's obvious. Nobody stopped Shapiro. Evidently, nobody tried, despite obvious signs that something was amiss.

Cash payments, alcohol, strippers, hookers -- no wonder the Hurricanes haven't won much lately. They're exhausted.

The Portland Trail Blazers are picking up needed help on the interior, acquiring Marcus Camby from the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for guard Steve Blake and forward Travis Outlaw.

The team announced the trade on Tuesday. ESPN.com and Yahoo! Sports were the first to report the deal, which also includes cash going to the Clippers.

Brandon Roy has reportedly agreed to a five-year contract extension with the Portland Trail Blazers. The Blazers planned a news conference with Roy on Thursday to announce the deal, according to a report by Yahoo!

Yahoo! Sports is reporting the Wizards and Timberwolves have agreed in principle to a deal that would send Minnesota guards Randy Foye and Mike Miller to Washington for the No. 5 pick in the draft and three players.

The Timberwolves would receive Etan Thomas, Oleksiy Pecherov and Darius Songaila, and the deal would leave them with the fifth and sixth overall choices in Thursday's NBA draft.
